More Than Just A Fundraising Event
Start With Doubts, Finish Brave
Many of us started Run for HER with a lot of self-doubt. We wondered if we’d slow others down, need too many breaks, or show up in the wrong training gear. Although we began with insecurities, we were met with overwhelming support. Each of us finished the trail with renewed confidence and strong friendships that have lasted long after the event.
We started scared, finished brave, and learned that this work and life in general doesn’t have to be done alone.
"I had to get out of my comfort zone to find my purpose again."
“Before training for Run for HER, I didn’t want to do anything. I didn’t want to leave the house or even go to church. Although I didn’t realize it at the time, I had gotten into a routine of doing the same thing over and over and over again and had lost my purpose in life.
“Then, something about the training, the event, and the commitment I had made clicked, and it was life-changing. I had to get out of my comfort zone to find my purpose again.”
“When I committed to Run for HER, I was forced to carve out time to train. That changed my mindset a lot. Even after the event, I make time for myself by getting up earlier. In the long run, I’ve noticed this shift has changed my family dynamic for the better.”

“I found my people.”
“I felt nervous about training in a group, but Run For HER seemed like a way to get in shape and maybe meet some people. I had no idea this event would become a life-changing experience.
“On the first group run, I started crying. I quickly realized no one was there to compete or judge me. Instead, I felt so moved by the mission and the women sacrificing so much to be part of it. Everyone seemed so ready to support each other, and my once begrudging training schedule quickly became my sacred, can’t-miss routine.
“Through this event, I found my people. I feel more connected locally and globally than I ever have before. I am forever thankful to the Run for HER community for welcoming me and grounding me to become the hands and feet of Jesus in the world.”
